Applications from suitably qualified persons are invited for the position of working Engineer Charge hand.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
Working with and allocating work to workshop staff and assisting them to produce work to the required standard of quality whilst observing health and safety requirements.
Taking responsibility for ensuring the engineering workshop and machine shop are maintained in a safe and tidy condition and ensuring the safety of workshop personnel, customers and visitors.
Liaising with the Companies Technical Managers and other departments charge hands regarding scheduling of jobs and labour to ensure the appropriate personnel are allocated daily tasks to progress jobs and projects.
Liaising with customers, taking instructions, assisting with the preparation of estimates and invoices.
The successful applicant will be time served and possess the necessary technical and interpersonal skills required to successfully fill this role. As the position is envisaged as mainly workshop based, a driving licence is not a pre-requisite.
Overtime working when required will be a necessary part of this demanding role. A medical assessment may be requested.
This is a staff position paid at an hourly rate commensurate with experience with enhanced rates for overtime working.
